I'd say if you are willing to part with the extra money for a P99 you're getting better fit and finish vs the Canik but from a functional perspective (i.e. trigger system & decocker capability) they're very similar. As you note the Canik holds more rounds and thus has a longer grip so keep that in mind if you want to carry it concealed.Both look great, although I think the Canik has the edge in "looks" department. However, I'm LEANING towards the PDP for two reasons: I would be able to co-witness on my Red Dot. While the Canik Darkside does come with a plate with a rear site on it for a red dot, I hear that it only works with micro-red dots, specifically Canik's Mecanik M01.
