Verizon remote channel button not working

Verizon said they are sending me all new boxes.I have a Philips remote and only the power buttons are not working. If I turn on the TV and set box manually, the volume and Guide buttons work just fine. I've tried re-setting the remote to factory settings, but that didn't help. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
