I basically can't play the system in handheld mode any more as the Switch thinks the left joycon is simultaneously connected (it charges) and disconnected (it does not work). It'll work for a few seconds if I unplug and replug it in again, or if I just take it off and use it wirelessly. I gather it is not an uncommon problem.it's possible that the joycon itself is damaged. try connecting it via bluetooth. if that doesn't work, check the connection point of the switch and joycon. it's possible the one (or both) have been damaged somehow. worst case scen, the joycon may just be busted.
