I'm thinking it could be some worn out teeth on the gear itself or maybe some noisy bearings in the trans. So after owning my FJC for couple years, I've finally started modding. My first modification is getting new wheels. I ordered some Black Rock Wheels 997 8 hole steelies. They don't clear the front calipers though so I found some 1/2 inch spacers. This is where my problem occurs.The steelies are for the Cooper SST Pros (LT285/70R17), alloys for the Cooper Discoverer AT3's.
