Burping coolant

Hello, Two questions: If I have a 'T' installed to flush the cooling system, at the firewall, between the heater core and top drivers side of the engine, could this cause a high spot that would trap air and make it difficult to burp and stay burped? Any car with the radiator lower than the highest engine coolant passage is going to have the potential to trap air bubbles. Some cars have an air bleed screw in an upper engine coolant passage to help purge the air. The 3rd gen does not.

Hey, I happened to run across your post, and as I recently went through process of "burping" the cooling system on a gasoline v-twin 4010 4x4, I'll post my experience. Not exactly sure how it might differ on the 2510, but I've read that all gasoline mules require burping of the cooling system.When I "burp" a system, I drill a .050 hole in the T-stat flange so the air in the system can escape with no problem (which this trick really helps those with the T-stat that is mounted vertically..) A T-stat also helps get the heat off the block by slowing down the coolant flow so the coolant can absort the heat much faster from the block..The procedure I developed can take a little time. The night before you work on the system, drive the front end up on ramps, about 8-10 inches. Then in the next morning when things are cool, pull the cap off the reservoir, and start the car.
