I bought it used in February 2010 from a chevrolet dealership. It had around 67,000 miles on it when I purchased it. It now has 78,000 miles on it. I have had to replace brake lines 3 different times due to corrosion and the lines blowing out.I bought a new '13 Silverado Z71 in March this year. I was talking to an experienced body shop guy who was admiring my truck. He said they are great but the coating on the frame doesn't last. He said it was some kind of waxy stuff that isn't as good as what Ford uses. Anyway, 5 months later I see rust forming in numerous spots on the frame.The facility where they were produced used a poor quality waxy paint coating. The dealership cannot guarantee a complete solution for this frame rust. This is a very dangerous problem in the future of the life of the truck. The frame could decay and the bolts can break off.
